Canoeing/Kayaking: The Price River springtime flow below the Scofield Dam offers Class I to V whitewater for 23.5 miles to Castle Gate.

History:
Scofield Town is in Carbon County, Utah. Often associated with the well-known Mining Disaster of the 1900s. Pleasant Valley Coal Companies Winter Quarters Mine. Scofield, in the bituminous coalfield of Carbon County and nestled among the hills that surround upper Pleasant Valley. Scofield Town situated along Mud Creek, just south of Scofield Reservoir. Price River is the outlet for the reservoir, flowing Southeast to the Green River and is thus part of the Colorado River Basin.
