This high desert cattle ranch has all the elements of an excellent working cattle operation. The Tackman Ranch sits in a secluded location in southeast Crook County, about an hours drive from Prineville, Oregon, and just south of the Maury Mountains of the Ochoco National Forest. With 3,190 deeded acres and a 1,820 Bureau of Land Management (BLM) grazing allotment, The Tackman Ranch makes a great cow/calf operation. In addition, this ranch has 90 acres of water rights, with a priority date of 1886, allowing an operator some hay base for the winter months.

Located approximately one hour from Prineville and one hour and fifteen minutes from Bend, all your necessities are just a beautiful Sunday drive away. The county maintains roads to the ranch for extra convenience. Improvements on The Tackman Ranch include an existing homesite with power and water (domestic well). This homesite allows the new owner to replace the current dwelling and build a new home to their liking (buyer to verify with Crook County). Or fix the existing dwelling, a 1995 manufactured home. Additional improvements include a barn with animal stalls, a hay shed, and a small shop. This homesite has Parrish Creek flowing nearby and overlooks the irrigated meadow, making it a serene and peaceful setting.
