Descriptions

Size: 1426 acres
Location: This ranch is located approximately 7 miles east of Long Creek, Oregon.
Water: The year round South Fork of Long Creek runs mile through the property. 23 acres can be flood irrigated out of this creek. There are two other smaller year round creeks that also flow through two of the smaller drainages. These small creeks are fed by several springs that originate on the ranch. It is very well watered with springs located on all corners. These springs could be developed with tanks or made into small ponds.
Hunting: There is elk and deer sign all over the ranch. Elk are regularly seen while on the property. There are 3 LOP tags for elk and 3 LOP tags for deer. Cow elk seasons start August 1 and end March 31st the following year in this area. Bird hunting includes turkeys and grouse.
Improvements: There is an older home that is 1684 sq. ft. built in 1934 that lies in the NW corner of the property. Several older sheds and a small corral for holding livestock are also in the same area. The house water is provided by a spring.
General: This ranch is very diverse in both its terrain and what it offers. Sub irrigated meadows, thick timber, open slopes, deep draws and timbered ridges can all be found while on the property. Water can be found in all corners providing not only good distribution of cattle but also giving plenty of water for wildlife. There is a main ridge or hog back that runs the length of the property and is a great spot to see deer and elk in the mahogany. This ranch also borders the USFS on its south and eastern borders. There are also a couple of small meadows on the upper reaches of the ranch that could be planted to dry land alfalfa for wildlife. The timber was cut approximately 10 years ago but is still very thick in areas and the young trees are growing very well. There are no easements (public or private) through the ranch so it is very controllable.
Taxes for 2015: $2986.47
