Most hunters overlook and mistakenly label this area of the state as Too dry to hold any wildlife. Local hunters, veteran hunters, and guide/outfitters know that Dolores County is home to the Pope and Young world record typical mule deer! They also know that the small pockets of Pinyons, Junipers, Oak brush and Sage that divide and segregate farm land hold BIG mule deer year-round and provide shelter for elk in the fall and winter! Providing hunters opportunities to harvest trophy animals. Fury Farm and Ranch historically has provided all the above habitat for the Dolores County Wildlife.
Location: 10 minutes East of Dove Creek. Durango, Telluride, and Moab, Utah are within a 2-hour drive.

Topography: Estimated elevations 7200 ft. to 7400 ft. Very Diverse and easily traversable fields, rolling hills, small valleys and pockets of land containing Pinyon Pines, Junipers, Oak Brush, and Sage segregating different farm fields.

Vegetation: Pinyon Pines, Junipers, Oak Brush, and Sage.

Wildlife: Mule Deer, Elk, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Bobcat, Coyote, and small game

Hunting: Located in Colorado Park and Wildlife game unit 711. Over the counter Antlered Elk tags available for 2nd and 3rd season Rifle. CPW 2015 estimated Elk population for units 70, 71, 72, 73, & 711 is 19,280 animals. Unit 711 is a B Unit offering additional cow elk tag for Early or Late Season Private Land Only tags. Elk tags have the possibility of being drawn with zero to one points. Mule Deer hunting is draw only. In 2016 several 200 class typical mule deer have been harvested within a few miles of the farm/ranch! Unit Wide - 2nd season rifle 51% of the land owners drew tags with zero preference points. Residents and Non-Residents have good odds of drawing a buck tag with zero to one preference points. Habitat on the Fury Ranch and the surrounding area provides all the necessities in producing quality mule deer.

Farming: (368 +/- acres) of the property is dedicated farm land. Crops that have been farmed include pinto beans, hay, and winter wheat. Safflower, sunflower and dry land alfalfa are crops that naturally attract mule deer / elk and have been planted on the many neighboring farms and could be planted on the Fury Farm.

Recreation: Boating/Fishing - McPhee Reservoir, Lake Powell / Hite, Colorado River (Moab, Utah), Delores & San Miguel rivers are within hours of the ranch. Winter activities could include, skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling.
