Native Americans survived by following the migration of wildlife. The remnants of Native Americans and their search for game can be found on the Ancient Hunting Grounds! This secluded area of South Western Colorado has historically and presently produced an abundance of wildlife!

Terrain: Consists of lookout cliffs to open parks, perfect for watching and waiting for game to move through the property or surrounding area.

Vegetation: A mix of pinions, junipers, oak brush, sagebrush, a few mountain cottonwoods and native grasses and plants.

Water: There is an old earthen dam and historic spring located on the property. Unfortunately, due to years of owner absence, the spring is not producing and would need to be improved.

Views: Marvel at 360-degree views of Colorado and Utah! La Sal Mountains, San Juan Mountains, Uncompahgre Plateau, Disappointment Valley, and Abajo Mountains!

Neighbors: Property abuts 1000s of acres of BLM to the north and west. Private property owners to the south and east.

Hunting: Area is known for producing quality mule deer. The opportunity to harvest a 200-class buck is not unrealistic! Elk hunting can be fantastic depending on weather and hunting pressure! As in all areas of Colorado predators (bear, mountain lion, and coyotes) could be thinned to improve the mule deer and elk populations. Over the counter antlered elk tags 2nd and 3rd seasons are available for unit 711.

Structures: There are no modern structures on this property. It might be possible to find a Native American campsite on this property if you explore all 200 acres!

Proximity to Civilization: This property is remote! It is an excellent area to escape from the crowds and a prime area for someone to establish an off the grid structure. Dove Creek is the closest city. Estimated population 724. Just big enough to gather necessities!
