Be ready for some big game hunting in and around this area, as you will find trophy elk, mule deer, mountain lion, moose, black bear, big horn sheep and antelope. Other outdoor activities in and around Spring Creek include rock climbing in Taylor Canyon or hiking and horseback riding in the Fossil Ridge Wilderness area. Mountain biking is a popular pastime up and down the Gunnison Valley. Right up the road from Spring Creek in Taylor Canyon youll find Doctor Park trail, one of the best down-hill trails in the state. If you want to mix it up a bit, you can head over to Crested Butte and take the ski lift up onto Mt. Crested Butte and do some more down-hilling, or venture out to the dozens of trails around CB. Winter is also full of fun. Nordic skiing, ice skating, hockey, snowmobiling, ice fishing and downhill skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort; all sure to keep you busy all winter.

Finally, if you want to just slow down and enjoy the wildlife, this area does not disappoint. It is common to see herds of Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep near the side of road of Hwy 135 in Almont, or catch a glimpse of bald eagles near the Roaring Judy Fishing Hatchery down the road towards Crested Butte. You might spot an occasional moose in the Taylor Canyon region up near Spring Creek. So keep those eyes open, you just never know what you might see!

Spring Creek, where this parcel is located, is a beautiful 12 minute ride from Almont.
